A dust clean for an Xbox that has got louder but still runs fine. We open the console, take the fan out, and clear the dust from the fan, heatsink fins and vents, so air moves freely again and the fan does not have to work as hard. Fits Series X, Series S and Xbox One.
This is maintenance, not an overheating repair, and the thermal paste is not replaced. If your Xbox runs hot or shuts itself off mid game, book the Overheating Package instead. It includes this clean plus fresh thermal paste and a temperature check.
What is covered: the internal dust clean, a function test and labour, backed by our 3 month warranty.
Not covered: thermal paste work, overheating or shutdown faults, water or physical damage, and faults unrelated to the clean.
A clean for an Xbox that is getting loud
The Series X tower and the Series S both breathe through large vents that pull in dust all year. As the fan and heatsink fins collect it, the fan has to work harder, and the first sign is the noise creeping up during games.
Our clean is a full teardown, not a vacuum over the vents. The fan comes out, and the fan, heatsink fins and boards are cleared of dust before reassembly. It does not replace the thermal paste. If your Xbox is already running hot or shutting down, the overheating package is the job that fixes that.
Internal Clean or Overheating Package?
They are two different jobs. The Internal Clean is $80 and is maintenance for an Xbox that has got louder but still runs fine. It clears the dust and does not touch the thermal paste.
The Overheating Package is $150 and is the repair for an Xbox that runs hot or shuts itself off mid game. It includes everything in this clean, plus replacing the dried thermal paste and checking temperatures before handover.
