About this service
Not sure what is wrong? We fully diagnose any gaming console or controller, identify the fault, and give you a clear repair quote before any work begins.
What is covered: a thorough diagnosis and a written quote. If you go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee is put towards the repair cost.
Not covered: the repair itself, which is quoted separately. A diagnostic fee may apply where no repair is carried out, and we will always tell you upfront.
Find the fault before spending on the fix
Some faults do not announce themselves. A console that is completely dead, restarts randomly, or misbehaves in ways no forum thread quite matches needs proper diagnosis before anyone should be quoting repairs. That is this service: we test power, boards, storage and cooling, find the actual fault, and tell you plainly what it is.
You get an honest recommendation with a fixed quote for the repair, and we get back to you with that quote before we confirm the job. If the answer is that the repair is not worth it against replacement, we will say exactly that. Nobody should pay to fix a console that does not deserve it.
Anywhere in Australia
Diagnostics work the same by mail as in person: book online, post the console in from any state, and we call or email with the findings before any repair work happens. Approved repairs continue from the diagnosis without a second booking.
Frequently asked questions
What does the diagnosis cost?
We do not put a price on it up front. Tell us what the console is doing, we find the fault, and we get back to you with a quote before we confirm the job. Nothing goes ahead until you have agreed to it.
What if my console is not worth fixing?
We tell you straight, with the reasons. You are then free to decide with real information, and plenty of customers thank us for the honest no.
Can you diagnose a console I post in?
Yes. Describe the symptoms in your booking notes, post it in from anywhere in Australia, and we report back before any work is done.
Which consoles do you diagnose?
PS5 and PS4, Xbox Series X, S and One, and all Nintendo Switch models, plus their controllers.
