About this service
We replace the USB-C charge port on your Nintendo Switch (V1/V2, Lite or OLED), fixing a console that will not charge or only charges at an angle.
What is covered: the replacement port and labour, backed by our 30-day warranty.
Not covered: charging faults caused by a separate board issue found during diagnosis, water or physical damage, and unrelated faults.
Not charging, or only at the perfect angle
The USB-C port on a Switch takes thousands of insertions, and eventually it loosens, bends or breaks. Classic signs: the console only charges when the cable sits at a certain angle, charging is intermittent, the dock no longer outputs to the TV, or nothing happens at all when you plug in.
The port is soldered to the mainboard, so replacement is precision micro-soldering work rather than a plug-in fix. A botched DIY attempt is one of the most common ways a fixable Switch becomes a dead one; this is a repair worth having done properly.
Careful diagnosis first
Not every charging fault is the port: a failed charging IC can look identical from the outside. We diagnose first, replace what is actually faulty, and confirm any price change with you before proceeding. Drop off in Perth or post it in Australia wide.
Frequently asked questions
What does a Switch charge port replacement cost?
From $60 to $70 depending on the model. If diagnosis shows the fault is a charging IC rather than the port, we quote that separately before doing anything.
My Switch only charges at an angle. Is that the port?
Almost certainly. A port that needs cable gymnastics is physically worn and will keep getting worse until it stops entirely. Replacing it now is cheaper than waiting for follow-on damage.
Can a broken charge port kill my Switch completely?
It can. A damaged port can short and take out charging circuitry with it. If your console is already completely dead, book a diagnosis and we will trace the fault.
Can I post my Switch in for this repair?
Yes, from anywhere in Australia. Charge it as much as it will take before posting, and note the symptoms in your booking.
