Xbox Loud or Hot? Why Cleaning Fixes Most Series X and S Problems

The Series X moves a lot of air by design: one big fan pulling air vertically through the whole tower. It is brilliant cooling until a few years of dust settles in the heatsink, and then the same design becomes very good at overheating quietly until it is not quiet anymore.

Why a vacuum over the vents does not fix it

The dust that matters is not on the vents — it is felted into the heatsink fins deep inside, where surface cleaning cannot reach. A proper clean is a teardown: fan out, heatsink cleared, boards dusted. Reassembled and tested, the console breathes like it did new.
